Structured training for soccer players across the Bay Area. Real feedback, real improvement, in a fun, engaging environment.

Where the love of the game begins

For players who are serious about their game
What We Offer
From toddlers taking their first steps with a ball to high school players preparing for college soccer, we have a program built for every stage of development.
Weekend mornings in Oakland, weekday sessions at the BASA Center. First touches, coordination, and falling in love with the ball.
Building the technical foundation every young player needs. Ball mastery, passing, movement, and game understanding in small groups.
Technical work, tactical awareness, and training under pressure in small groups. For players who are serious about getting better.
Finishing, movement in the box, creating chances, and the mentality it takes to score. Dedicated training for goal scorers. Fridays.
We build sessions around what your player needs. Flexible scheduling at the BASA Center and Wilder Fields in Orinda. Contact us to book.
Full day and half day camps at the BASA Center. A lot of touches, good coaching, and kids having fun. 2026 registration is open.
Structured mentorship for committed players. Training plans, video analysis, recruiting guidance, and direct access to Coach Javier.
Film, outreach, guidance on what coaches look for. We have been through the recruiting process and we know how it works.

Our Home
The BASA Center is our indoor training facility in Oakland's Temescal neighborhood. It is where our players come to train consistently, week after week, rain or shine. No cancelled sessions because of weather. No sharing a field with three other groups.
We run classes here for all ages. Little ones just learning to love the ball, older kids working on their game, and competitive players who want to get to the next level. It is a focused environment where real work gets done.

The Coach
Javier played college soccer at UC Berkeley and then spent years coaching at the college level. UC Berkeley, University of San Francisco, San Francisco State. He knows what good development looks like because he has done it at every level.
He started Bay Area Soccer Academy because he wanted to give Bay Area kids the same quality of training and feedback he gave his college players. Whether your child is 2 years old and just starting to kick a ball, or 17 and trying to get recruited, Javier and his coaches will meet them where they are and help them get better. That is what we do.
His mission is simple: give players the kind of development he wishes he had growing up. Honest feedback, structured training, and a coach who genuinely cares about each player's growth.
