SPECIALIZED TRAINING
FOR SERIOUS PLAYERS
Most camps train everyone the same way. BASA Orinda position camps are different. Each camp is designed specifically for the demands of one position: the technical skills, tactical awareness, and physical habits that make a great striker, defender, or goalkeeper.
Sessions run from 9 AM to 12 PM at Wilder Field 1 in Orinda, a beautiful outdoor facility in the East Bay hills. Players work in small groups with experienced coaches who understand the specific demands of each position.

THREE POSITION CAMPS
Striker School
Every session is built around the technical and tactical demands of playing forward. Finishing from every angle, movement off the ball, timing of runs, and composure under pressure in front of goal.
- Clinical finishing from inside and outside the box
- Movement off the ball and timing of attacking runs
- Reading the defense and exploiting space
- Composure and decision-making in front of goal
Defender School
Modern defending requires more than tackling. Sessions cover 1v1 defending technique, positional awareness, communication, and the ability to build out from the back with confidence.
- 1v1 defending technique and body positioning
- Reading the game and anticipating attacking runs
- Building out from the back with composure
- Communication and organizing the defensive line
Goalkeeper School
Goalkeeping is a specialized position that demands specialized training. Sessions focus on shot stopping, footwork, positioning, distribution, and the mental demands of playing in goal.
- Shot stopping technique and reflex training
- Footwork, positioning, and angle management
- Distribution and playing out from the back
- Communication and commanding the penalty area

DIRECTED BY JAVIER AYALA-HIL
Javier Ayala-Hil played college soccer at UC Berkeley from 2004 to 2007 and went on to coach at Cal, USF, and San Francisco State. He founded Bay Area Soccer Academy in 2013 to give East Bay players access to the kind of serious, structured development that was previously only available at the highest levels.
The Orinda position camps reflect his belief that specialized training, focused on the real demands of each position, produces better players faster than generic camp programs.
